How to find a dentist accepting new patients

2 min read

Many dental clinics in Canada have waitlists, so it pays to check availability before you book. Start by searching your city on Canadian Dental Care to see verified clinics near you, sorted by rating and review volume.

On each clinic page, look for whether they note accepting new patients, their listed services, languages spoken, and whether they accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) or your insurance. The fastest way to confirm is to use the direct booking option, which sends your request straight to the clinic.

If your first choice is full, try clinics nearby — our city pages and treatment pages list dozens of options ranked by a Bayesian rating that balances score with review count, so highly-rated newer clinics aren't buried.

Tip: booking outside peak hours (mid-morning or mid-afternoon on weekdays) often gets you in sooner.
